this week

Mordanted cotton on the washing line.

Stitching scraps on an old handkerchief.

Indigo on the windowsill.

The orange pots give the deceptive impression of sunshine. It's been so grey for so long here. I'm willing spring to properly arrive.

  1. I so know what you mean about the endless grey days, although the sun has actually decided to shine here this morning ... hurrah!

What do your mordant your cotton with please Claire?

  2. Is there any chance of a mordanting workshop please Claire?

  3. I'm waiting for another sunny day to pre wash then mordant my new organic cotton in Alum - I've tried soya milk, but would love some recommendations too!
PS...my indigo seeds are so teeny tiny still - nothing like your beauties yet!
    I am so impatient...

  4. You have a great sense of colour, Claire...
It is raining all day long here as well. Good that I am on holidays and I can stitch from morning to night!
