friday morning

A quiet cup of coffee and some hand-stitching (bindings to these tiny quilts) to start the day. I'm drinking my coffee from a cup made by The Hopeful Potter and today is his birthday. Happy Birthday!

It's been so lovely to read all the comments on my giveaway post. Hearing about all the wonderful things being made all over the world is great. There is still time to enter if you'd like to take part.

I'm heading over to York tomorrow to pick up a resource box from the Quilt Museum and to catch the final day of the current exhibition. I'll post about it next week. Have a good weekend.

  1. Oh, I love hand-stitching bindings. Giving the last stitch to something is so relaxing...

  2. I think that your beautiful stitches will be what will motivate me the most to grab the needle again. It's been way too long, but it's been crazy last 6 months since my dad's passing away.
Thank you for the inspiration, Claire. Have a most lovely weekend !

  3. Those tiny quilts look entrancing.
There is absolutely nothing so soothing as hand stitching and as montse says above, finishing up a quilt.

    1. Thanks Judy. I struggle with finishing things off and saying 'enough'. Stitching these bindings feels like a good full stop.

  4. Wonderful photo. I happened to stumble upon your flickr stream, just love your work. I dye fabric from my garden also. Cannot wait for this season's dye works!

    1. Thanks very much Susan. The weather here has been dreadful and I'm anxious for my plants... fingers crossed they survive!

  5. Beautiful pottery cup, it echoes the quiet colours of your stitching so well. And I've really enjoyed looking at his blog. Thanks for the link!
