testing

Print tests using madder paste. I'd love to hear from anyone who uses natural dyes for block or screen printing.

I'm finding the dyeing  here, here and here very inspiring at the moment.

  1. This is something I'm very keen to develop. My experiments so far have been really disappointing. The problem I've had is getting intense or concentrated enough colour to cope with a binder x

  2. i am eager to learn more about this too. I am experimenting with making paste using gum tragacanth. It is hard to get deep colors, but sometimes subtle prints are nice too. Thanks for the mention and the link!

  4. Just found your site and reading through old posts. I did some screen printing using coffee berry which we reduced and then added some sodium alginate as a thickener. The project was done with Rebecca Burgess from the Fibershed project in California.
    All the best, Jo
