alchemilla mollis

Looking through a copy of 'Nature as designer: a botanical art study.' by Bertel Bager. Striking black and white photographs of plant forms and seed heads. This page jumped out as I have a very healthy alchemilla mollis (Lady's Mantle) spreading all over my front garden.

The leaves produced this rather delicate yellow in the dye bath. I also fished out the silk from my viola solar dye and got an vibrant pea green colour. Picture on flickr.

  1. I took a look at the Flicker page and that green is wonderful. Everything is wonderful to see.
    I enjoy your blog.

  2. Thank you very much!

  3. It's obvious what I'll say, but how delicate are these colours and how different they are from artificial dyeing!

Thank you for leaving a comment. I always try to reply to you here if you do.
