It's the end of term and the end of many different teaching and workshop sessions. My work room tends to become a bit of a dumping ground when I'm in the thick of term time. Now I have a brief pause and spent a quiet hour this morning sorting and cleaning. It feels like a much better place to be in.
This week two of my classes experimented with natural dyeing using onion skins and silk. We incorporated some eggs into our dye pot as a seasonal activity. The method we used is described in this excellent book. The results were rather beautiful and very varied.
